How to drop entries in a table?

Hi.

I have a postgreSQL 6.3.2 and I want to delete an entry in a table.

I tried a
"ALTER TABLE DROP COLUMN"

but it replies:
"NOT YET IMPLEMENTED"

hmmmm ... but it must be possible ... but how?
