sorry, i have not looked at the ftp-server. My versions of the docs have also an index-tree.  I think, this is much
betterthan without index. 
 

If you want, i can help you to help with the pdf docs.

Can you send me an example of a pdf doc with this feature? It sounds
like we will want to do this, and if you are willing to continue
supporting it that would be great.

Are you on the hackers or docs lists?
