Initialization Problem.

Hi All,

I am having

Win2000 professional

Cygwin 2.125.2.10

postgresql-7.1.3

cygipc-1.13-2.tar.bz2

I check processes.

Following is the output… where I am running ipc-daemon as a W2K service.

$ ps -a

      PID    PPID    PGID     WINPID  TTY  UID    STIME COMMAND

      516       1     516        516    ?   18 10:27:49 /usr/local/bin/ipc-daemon

     1068       1    1068       1068  con 1006 11:15:46 /usr/bin/bash

     1428    1068    1428       1456  con 1006 11:20:40 /usr/bin/ps

But when I am initializing DB, my system is getting hanged & shows CPU usages as 100%.

Nothing is happening.

$ initdb -D /usr/share/postgresql/data

This database system will be initialized with username "paragsa".

This user will own all the data files and must also own the server process.

Creating directory /usr/share/postgresql/data

Creating directory /usr/share/postgresql/data/base

Creating directory /usr/share/postgresql/data/global

Creating directory /usr/share/postgresql/data/pg_xlog

Creating template1 database in /usr/share/postgresql/data/base/1

Is there anything wrong I am doing?

Please pointers will be helpful

Thanks,

Parag.

Yes, you are not using the correct (and latest) version of PostgreSQL.
You *must* use PostgreSQL 7.3.2-1 with cygipc 1.13-2.
