What is the command to launch a trace
i try postmaster -i -D .... -d 10 >logfile
but the file is create but nothing are in why?

I have noted similar problems when attempting to manipulate stdin,
stdout, stderr of postmaster.
So I use pg_ctl -l log
See pg_ctl(1) to see how they do it there.....
