Thread: Cygwin: ip-daemon install service problem

I am trying to run the command as suggested in the
install instrunctions, but I get the following error,


bash-2.05b$ ipc-daemon --install-as-service --debug
(ipc-daemon) ipc-daemon: 5 = OpenSCManager()
(ipc-daemon) ipc-daemon: installing service
`ipc-daemon' failed


Any Suggestions?

It is very likely that the "5" above implies "access denied."

Run the above command under an account that has local Administrator
privileges.

Yes this was the answer - Sorry to say but this was
actually in the install instructions - Sorry for
wasting your time but thanks very much for the
information.
