I meant the latest snapshot (sorry, should have said). Available from:
http://cygwin.com/snapshots/
Have just tried with:
cygwin1-20020222.dll.bz2
and had psql work for me.

Ahh... the saga continues.

OK, now I have the dll installed but postmaster 7.2-2 will not load at all.
(which is was before). The only line it writes to the log file during
startup is

PGSTAT: connect(2): Connection refused

and then exits. I used cygwin setup to remove postgreSQL entirely, deleted
the data directory etc. and then used setup again to reinstall it, logged
in as postgres user into W2000 and did the initdb, then tried pg_ctl
command line method of firing it up before going back to using W2000
service approach (which ash been working fine) but to no avail.

Anyone got any ideas please?

Thanks to all who have helped so far.
Tim.
