Thread: create cluster (windows 98)
when I use the command initdb -D /usr/local/pgsql/data it runs and creates some dirs/files and stops after printing this; creating template1 database in /usr/local/pgsql/data/base/1... what can I do about this? is it a win9x bug?? _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? You need to install cygipc. Search archives for how to do this. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Burak Gürsoy" <jeologic@yahoo.com> To: "pgsql-cygwin" <pgsql-cygwin@postgresql.org> Sent: Wednesday, February 13, 2002 2:40 PM Subject: [CYGWIN] create cluster (windows 98) > when I use the command > > initdb -D /usr/local/pgsql/data > > it runs and creates some dirs/files and stops after printing this; > > creating template1 database in /usr/local/pgsql/data/base/1... > > what can I do about this? is it a win9x bug?? > > _________________________________________________________ > Do You Yahoo!? > Get your free @yahoo.com address at http://mail.yahoo.com > > > ---------------------------(end of broadcast)--------------------------- > TIP 6: Have you searched our list archives? > > http://archives.postgresql.org

Hello Burak, > initdb -D /usr/local/pgsql/data > > it runs and creates some dirs/files and stops after printing this; > > creating template1 database in /usr/local/pgsql/data/base/1... I had the same problem. I resolved it by following the Postres.7.2.readme in the usr/doc/cygwin directory, saying: 1.) load ipc-daemon 2.) NOW start initdb Full success only after finding and installing cygwin snapsoph 20020212 Best wishes harald
