Hi I remember, few people have reported this earlier and we could not reproduce it on our test machines. But will have to get to the cause of the error. Will look into this and get back. Thanks for reporting. Hi! I think this is related also: BUG #11039 last post <http://www.postgresql.org/message-id/1419925175279-5832413.post@n5.nabble.com> I ran into this problem too on a WinXP 32-bit OS, logs seem very similar. Additionally I tried to install from the precompiled zip archive from EnterpriseDB, but running initdb.exe and pg_ctl.exe both resulted in a report that they are invalid Win32 applications. Same files work on 32-bit Win7. PostgreSQL 9.3.5 works on both systems. -- View this message in context: http://postgresql.nabble.com/BUG-12328-can-t-install-the-postgresql-tp5832083p5832813.html Sent from the PostgreSQL - bugs mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
If I recognize correctly, PostgreSQL9.4 couldn't run on Windows XP. regards, Hiroshi Inoue On 2015/01/05 4:54, YTheon wrote: > Hi! > > I think this is related also: BUG #11039 last post > <http://www.postgresql.org/message-id/1419925175279-5832413.post@n5.nabble.com> > > I ran into this problem too on a WinXP 32-bit OS, logs seem very similar. > Additionally I tried to install from the precompiled zip archive from > EnterpriseDB, but running initdb.exe and pg_ctl.exe both resulted in a > report that they are invalid Win32 applications. Yes, PG 9.4 is officially not supported on Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server, Windows Vista where we have seen people reporting the same issue. But, we *may* see if it is convenient for us to fix it and make the binaries work on these OS as well.
