The information on timezones seems to be incorrect based on the documentation.
The appendix on time/date support (UG1) in the user's guide lists hawaii and
alaska as being in the same timezone and having daylight and standard variants.
However Hawaii is an hour back from alaska's time zone and does not use
daylight savings time. The abbreviation for Hawaii's time zone is Hawaiian
Standard Time (HST) and it is equivalent to (GMT-10). Also some other areas
particularly tropical countries do not observe daylight savings time.
