There was one moment when action like this cause fun error.
'now' returned value :
"Fri 01 Oct 13:35:60.00 1999 MSD"
Note that trying to use this string to COMPARE with DATETIME field
cause PSQL error - Bad datetime external representation

Please describe a way to repeat the problem. Please try to provide a
concise reproducible example, if at all possible:
INSERT INTO mytable (field_datetime) VALUES('now');
do this often and you can obtain such result.
