question about postgresql certification

Hi,
I'm wondering if there's an official Certification program from the
main PostgreSQL group to use for PostgreSQL training courses.

If there's not I think that can be useful drop the basis of an
official cert program (PGCE or so on) as well.

What do you think to discuss it at the italian PGDay?
It can be a good start to have good professionals around the world.

Federico

Please review previous discussions first.

Certification is strictly a commercial activity having little to do with
producing PostgreSQL. As such, we've deliberately left it to the various
PostgreSQL companies ... including PostgreSQL Inc, OTG, CertFirst, SRA and
EnterpriseDB, and Dextra Systemas ... to devise their own certification
programs.

In addition to not wanting to favor one vendor over another, validating a
certification exam is a very time-consuming process which would distract our
core contributors from their work improving PostgreSQL.
