while we are vigorously discussing all the stuff for 8.2, what is
there, what isn't, I would like to remind everyone of the main reason
postgresql flatlines in Google Trends: its name!
Investors Business Daily just reported in its trends and innovations
section the results of a study of the names of IPO's. Quote:
"Choosing stocks may be a matter of how easy a company's name is to
pronounce, according to psychology researchers at Princeton
Univewrsity. The found a correlation between post-IPO performance and
the ease of pronouncing company names. The researchers believe, that
amid a flurry of data, people use simple cues as proxies for complex
concepts like economic and financial data. Researchers controlled their
study to account for company size, country of origin and other factors."
or, in the parlance of decades of consultants - KISS! Only one database
flatlines worse - MSSQL - I rest my case.
