Thread: PostgreSQLFr News
Fellow PostgreSQL community, Back in May 2005, I sent some stats about PostgreSQLFr.org audience (read http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-advocacy/2005-05/msg00060.php for full details): Different users : 6026 Visits : 17769 Pages : 35691 Hits : 74830 Bandwidth : 1.07 Gb One year later, in May 2006, we have more than doubled the traffic: Month Different Visits Pages Hits Bandwidth Users Jan 2006 10213 35353 110959 360949 2.22 Go Feb 2006 11351 35492 109784 368937 2.23 Go Mar 2006 13540 47092 157806 471311 2.75 Go Apr 2006 13158 40835 178375 491828 2.89 Go May 2006 14508 43064 173301 502835 2.85 Go We are more than happy of such success !! I can send details on statistics (awstats) to every advocacy/core member that would need it to set up "global" statistics, if wanted. I'll post in the next days a complete PostgreSQLFr.org survey on those stats (who, when, from where, etc..) as an article on the PostgreSQLFr.org's drupal system. A special thanks to the more or less 10 people helping me daily to maintain www.PostgreSQLFr.org updated, with articles and news in French, and to all the people at the non-profit PostgreSQLFr organization (french 1901 law) to help me setting up booths and conferences. Thanks to you, my dear PostgreSQL community, for such a good Open-Source Project ! -- Jean-Paul Argudo www.PostgreSQLFr.org www.dalibo.com

Dear PostgreSQL community members, Back in time, I sent some stats about PostgreSQLFr.org audience: - 2005 : http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-advocacy/2005-05/msg00060.php - 2006 : http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-advocacy/2006-06/msg00036.php I send this message to trace the activity of PostgreSQLFr.org website, as I did in the past. Here are the 2007'stats: Mois Different Visitors Visits Pages Hits Bandwidth Jan 2007 14160 46636 133189 463243 2.48 Go Feb 2007 13538 48117 130159 442381 2.36 Go Mar 2007 14502 57144 144412 505399 2.69 Go Apr 2007 13709 48717 137548 447544 2.31 Go May 2007 14565 51946 135851 439634 2.39 Go Jun 2007 18222 68898 282418 599912 4.77 Go Jul 2007 17941 72370 227249 520878 3.93 Go Aug 2007 13768 54159 198243 440161 3.22 Go Sep 2007 11558 42379 176597 440363 3.08 Go Oct 2007 13511 46024 149665 479364 2.79 Go Nov 2007 14152 44860 131618 483822 2.67 Go Dec 2007 12869 40889 130413 424506 2.43 Go Total 172495 622139 1977362 5687207 35.13 Go Compared to 2006 stats (see URL up there), the numbers are growing, but not as fast as in 2005. To me, its the sign of a growing, and *active* comunity of users that care about whats going on with their RDBMS. In 2007, we literally saw our forums explode. We have now 3000 drupal accounts, growing at a rate from 50 to 100 per month (since march 2007). About our users: 80% are french, 10% are from African countries, 5% from Belgium/Switzerland and 5% from Canada. Since the begginning, we where so few answering questions.. Nowadays, users share their experience and help each other, even without PostgreSQLFr guys... So for us, its a success, and we really thank everyone helping us. We are currently migrating PostgreSQLFr services from dalibo's server to the 2 HPs boxes that Continuent gave us (2 others are for PG-Europe). I look forward to see most of you very soon, at Solutions Linux 2008 for example. Don't forget to see us at the PostgreSQLFr's booth :) Thanks a lot for reading! -- Jean-Paul Argudo www.PostgreSQLFr.org www.dalibo.com
