Thread: Involvement of Unisys
FYI, I have met with Unisys in Philadelphia several times during the past few months. They were considering getting involved with PostgreSQL, and now have decided they want to. They are looking at how they can use PostgreSQL for customers, and how they can help the PostgreSQL community. They sponsored Simon Riggs to study our i386 SMP problem, and are considering other support like sponsoring features, developers, or hosting events. I have been talking mostly with Robert Wilkinson <rob.wilkinson@unisys.com> at Unisys. -- Bruce Momjian | http://candle.pha.pa.us pgman@candle.pha.pa.us | (610) 359-1001 + If your life is a hard drive, | 13 Roberts Road + Christ can be your backup. | Newtown Square, Pennsylvania 19073

Does this mean I can start listing Unisys as a "PostgreSQL-supporting company"? -- Josh Berkus Aglio Database Solutions San Francisco

Uh, they haven't really done enough yet for that, I think. -- Bruce Momjian | http://candle.pha.pa.us pgman@candle.pha.pa.us | (610) 359-1001 + If your life is a hard drive, | 13 Roberts Road + Christ can be your backup. | Newtown Square, Pennsylvania 19073

Other then deciding they want to, haven't they actually done *anything* yet? ---- Marc G. They did sponsor Simon for 1-2 weeks. My point was that that isn't signficant, long-standing support. -- Bruce Momjian | http://candle.pha.pa.us pgman@candle.pha.pa.us | (610) 359-1001 + If your life is a hard drive, | 13 Roberts Road + Christ can be your backup. | Newtown Square, Pennsylvania 19073
