Thread: nice work on the new site
To everyone who put in what's clearly a lot of time in building the new website, well done! I think the combination of the8.0 release and a dramatically more professional website will do wonders for PostgreSQL. Kudos!
I *really* like the new design also, although one small detail niggles me: the tagline says "The world's most advanced open source database". I know it is fairly common nowadays to use the term 'database' when you are really referring to a database management system (DBMS), but it just drives me nuts. Historically, the PostgreSQL team has been known for using correct terminology, in spite of trends. Any thoughts, anyone? At least, could we compromise and say "The world's most advanced open source database server"? Although I appreciate your point. I think the current wording is appropriate. I could see: "The world's most advanced open source database software"? > > Ned Lilly wrote: > >> To everyone who put in what's clearly a lot of time in building the >> new website, well done! I see your point and raise you +1 "The world's most advanced open source database software" seems like a great compromise. Joshua D.
