Thread: ERROR - postgresql-9.3 dead but pid file exists

Running PostgreSQL v9.3 on Linux Red-Hat.

Getting the error in the Subject line while checking service postgresql-9.3 on Linux & unable to connect via pgadmin3.

I would remove the PID file and start PgSQL, as it is most likely
stopped, which explain the connection failure with pgadmin. The server
probably crashed, so you should check that, and find why if so.
