Thread: reg:pg_ctl
Hi,
I am facing the following problem,
C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.0\bin>pg_ctl reload -D C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.0\data
pg_ctl: too many command-line arguments (first is "Files\PostgreSQL\8.0\data")
Try "pg_ctl --help" for more information.
Try "pg_ctl --help" for more information.
Please explain me what i need to do...
-Sandhya
You have to put quotes around the paths. Ex: pg_ctl reload -D "C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.0\data" On Thu, 19 Jan 2006, sandhya wrote: > Hi, > > I am facing the following problem, > C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.0\bin>pg_ctl reload -D C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.0\data > > pg_ctl: too many command-line arguments (first is "Files\PostgreSQL\8.0\data") > Try "pg_ctl --help" for more information. > > Please explain me what i need to do... > > -Sandhya -- Jeff Frost, Owner <jeff@frostconsultingllc.com> Frost Consulting, LLC http://www.frostconsultingllc.com/ Phone: 650-780-7908 FAX: 650-649-1954
Please do not resend questions to me directly that you have already sent to the list. I do not work in VC++ but I would first check that the postgres user (or whatever user the postmaster is running as) has access to the files.
