Hello
 
Problem
 
when I type psql while logged in as postgres user and in /usr/local/pgsql/bin
 
 
I get message
 
 
could not connect to server no such file or directory.
is server running locally and accepting connections on UNIX domain socket "/tmp/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
 
can anyone help

Is postgres running? Try restarting it.
