--with-perl

Hi,
I didn't build (./configure --with-perl) the makefile with perl and a
developer wants it now.
Is there a way to add perl with out a complete re-instsall like with the
create lang command?
Has anyone read anything about about the perl PL ? Someone in our group
said he read its really archaic and can cause problems. Is that old news?

Thanks again,
~DjK

Old news. Plperl is actively maintained and works very well. You can add
plPerl if you have source without recompiling the whole database just:

cd postgresql.src/src/pl/perl (that might me plperl... it is early) and
do a make, make install.

If you don't have a configured source tree, make sure you configure first.
