Compile Time Options

Reviewing data type docs, I found this note:  “When timestamps are stored as eight-byte integers (a compile-time option), microsecond precision is available over the full range of values.”  However, when I review the “ .configure “ options, I am unable to find the setting that controls this behavior.  If anyone has anyone successfully done this, I would appreciate some enlightenment.  TIA.
