Thread: postgres stopped working
Hi, I had this postgres running smoothly. Then, i've imported the contents of a plain text file, by the book. postgres said "COPY". Everything seemed ok. Well, postgres then died and now, refuses to start. /var/log/pgsql is 0 bytes size :( Any hint how to solve this situation ? Any help would be appreciated. Warm Regards, Mário Gamito

You can tweak the script, or change postgresql.conf to log to syslog instead of stderr. This will not of course make things work, but at least you should be able to see the failure message ... regards, tom lane
