Am looking for pointers to resouces that compare database naming, sql differences between mySQL & postgreSQL, for
buildinga checklist for converting existing perl/php applications from mySQL to postgreSQL.

I don't know of any checklist, but you should definately look at the
MySQL gotchas page.
