There was a thread on this topic opened by Gautam Saha in early november 2003. What came out of it was the following list of apps/URLs: OpenOffice.org Draw DIA http://www.lysator.liu.se/~alla/dia/ DIA to PostgreSQL converter http://freshmeat.net/projects/dia2postgres/?topic_id=66%2C259%2C916 PostgreSQL Autodoc http://freshmeat.net/projects/postgresql_autodoc/?topic_id=66 tedia2sql http://tedia2sql.tigris.org/ Data Architect (non-free, $39) http://www.thekompany.com/products/dataarchitect/ Case Studio 2 (non-free, $329) http://www.casestudio.com/enu/products.aspx DDS-Lite (non-free, $299) Chilli Source DeZign for databases (non-free, $229) Datanamic Enterprise Architect (non-free, $135) Sparx Systems Eclipse's Clay Datamodel plug-in http://www.eclipse.org/ For more info and user opinions, see the thread I mentioned above (sorry, www.postgresql.org is currently down, I can't help you with an URL on that). Nigel Bishop mentioned : => Has anyone come across a ERD tool for postgres - preferably free Hi, I've been enjoying the new dbvisualizer for java. It's really easy to register new drivers and it draws very pretty reverse engineered ERD's and the printing works quite well : http://www.minq.se/products/dbvis/ http://fabforce.net/downloads.php Another product I've been playing around with, is dbdesigner. You will need to be able to set up unixodbc and get the postgres odbc driver working. There are some nice rpm libraries for odbc in RedHat and Mandrake, and it works quite well. I haven't been able to get this working in debian yet. It just hangs. Very nice application though : http://fabforce.net/downloads.php C Stef
