Thread: PostgreSQL 7.3.3 on Windows 2000
Hi! I don't want to use PostgreSQL "the Unix way" on Windows and so I did not install the Cygwin and tried to compile using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0. Unfortunately, I encounter the following error when execute psql on Windows 2000, psql: could not create socket: Address family not supported (0x0000273F/10047) Do you have any idea of what could be the problem?

You just mentioned it. http://developer.postgresql.org/todo.php Urgent: * Create native Win32 port [win32] ^^^^^^ Alternatives: 1. Use Unix. Some are free. 2. Use cygwin. It's free. 3. Use PowerGres (non-free) http://osb.sra.co.jp/PowerGres/index-en.php 4. Wait for and then help the developers test the native Win32 port. -- Linux homer 2.4.18-14 #1 Wed Sep 4 13:35:50 EDT 2002 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux 10:42am up 198 days, 1:48, 6 users, load average: 5.10, 5.11, 5.06
