Hi Guys,
Thanks for migration wizard. The advocacy guys should realize that this
tool is one of the most important in the postgresql kit, and it's
unfortunate that it's taking a low priority (which I read in one of the
previous posts). If you want poeple to use postgresql, you want them to be
able to move their tables to it easily. (pgadmin2 1.4 build 12, latest
plugins)
Two probs I had:
a) If I run my sqlserver2000 on a different port than the standard, then
the migratino wizard can't find it. Even if I specify localhost:xxx as the
address and port. (I use different port for security reasons).
b) Although I don't mind not being able to transfer binary data, I do mind
that it cannot create the tables. If you have a sqlserver2000 table with
an "image" type column, then the
migration fails with not being able to create the table due to unknown type
"lo".....dunno where "lo" came from .
Otherwise cool! Thanks.
