Hi Sreedhar,

There are no commands as such but
combination of "CREATE TABLE AS SELECT f1,f2 from TAB"
and CAST might prove useful in certain cases

You may also try installing phpPgAdmin (search http://freshmeat.org for
it) as it automates create/select/insert to drop a column and does a whole
lot more.
