Thread: dump and authentication

Hi,
I'm wondering how are You doing backups with password protected database?
I've setup such lines in ph_hba.conf
ocal        all                                           password
host         all         127.0.0.1     255.255.255.255     password
not to allow get to any db without authorization. But now I have a problem
how to dump a db with cron. pg_dump requires me to type a username and
login. How to do a dump even as pg_superuser without authorization?
