Using NT port 6.5.3 of Postgres
(postgresql-6_53-nt-binaries_tar.gz) with cygwin-b20
installed, I get:
IpcMemoryCreate: shmget failed (Permission denied)
key=5432010, size=120, permission=700
IpcMemoryIdGet: shmget failed (Permission denied)
key=5432010, size=120, permission=0
IpcMemoryAttach: shmat failed (Permission denied) id=-2
FATAL 1: AttachSLockMemory: could not attach segment
I tried this on Windows NT 4.0 workstation and Windows 98
with the same result. I've tried examining the mail
archives and the user docs without success. Any
suggestions to help me along.
Also, the binaries above include postgres.exe, and a file
postmaster that contains: !<symlink>postgres.exe. There
is no comment anywhere that postgres.exe copied and
renamed postmaster creates a working postmaster. Maybe
the install process could implement it?
