6.3.2 built, installed and running on Solaris 2.5.1.... recap

Well, thanks to some helpful hints from one individual, I have managed to
build
and install 6.3.2 with a working \dt command (locates and lists all tables).
I had
much trouble, but for posterity's sake:

1) Make sure your path variable includes all executables that you'll need.
The log file allows you to find this easily.

2) Do not assume that your gcc installation is correct. This likely will
not
apply to most people, but I inherited an Ultrasparc of unknown origins.
Rebuilding gcc 2.8.1 and installing helped.

3) Bite the bullet and obtain flex and bison. Don't even bother trying to
compile w/o them. They build and install quickly.

4) That's it. It should go fine from this point.

One note: for some reason, gmake install did not copy pg_version over to the
bin directory. No idea why, but I just did it manually.

On to some real work!
