Hi FOlks

This is for Debian etch.

I followed these instructions:

Hi Vince,

you should remove the "dists" from the URL. This should give the
following line in your sources.list:
<on one line :>
deb
http://ftp2.au.postgresql.org/pub/postgresql/pgadmin3/release/debian/
etch pgadmin
</on one line>
<----><8---->

but for this:

sudo aptitude install pgadmin3

I get (for Australia):

Selecting previously deselected package pgagent.
(Reading database ... 78137 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking pgagent (from .../pgagent_1.8.0-1~pgaoetch1_i386.deb) ...

and (for Argentina):

Get:1 http://ftp2.au.postgresql.org etch/pgadmin pgadmin3-data

and for this (for Germany):

aptitude update

I get:

Get:5 ftp://ftp.de.postgresql.org etch/pgadmin Packages [1745B]
Fetched 4353B in 22s (197B/s)
Reading package lists... Done
W: GPG error: ftp://ftp.de.postgresql.org etch Release: The following
signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available:
NO_PUBKEY AE9545D6FC0564BE
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems

Very frustrating...

Any ideas?

Hi Ron,

can you try to follow these steps please:

a)
wget -q -O - http://www.pgadmin.org/pgp/archive_key_debian_ubuntu.gpg |
sudo apt-key add -

(if you don't have sudo, run the following as root:
wget -q -O - http://www.pgadmin.org/pgp/archive_key_debian_ubuntu.gpg |
apt-key add - )

b)
retry your installation with the german mirror, it should be ok.

The first two errors need investigation (size mismatch).

Regards,
Raphaël

Hi Ron,

the repository is definitely broken... My best bet is that I broke it
when I uploaded the amd64 packages as only the arch=all seems to be
affected. I must recheck this tonight. If that's what happened I'll fix
it rapidly if something else happened, I'll disable the repository for a
while.

I come back to you rapidly.

Hi Ron,

sorry for the delay... So, that was my fault. The -data present in the
-all section was the one from AMD64 upload but the description files
were not up to date. I've reuploaded the right files. It should be ok
after the sync updates the mirrors.

So, please retry in some hours or days it _should_ be ok if I did not
miss something else ;)

Thanks for the feedback,
Raph

Built in display of contents of temporary tables when select has no destination

From

Hi, Not sure if this is the proper forum but I'd like to post a request of
sorts. The PG Admin III SQL Editor and Debugger are great but I've noticed
that when a select statement has no destination, the software issues an
error. I've tried MSSQL, MySQL and even Valentina...the debuggers there
automaticaly display the contents of select statements with no destination
for the query recordset on a window or tab somewhere. (e.g. select * from
mytable limit 5) This provides an easy built in display of temporary tables
(or even parameter passed ones) without having to resort to a loop with
raise commands. Am hoping the nice people here would consider plugging this
feature into future releases...:) Good day to all. :)

What do you mean 'has no destination'? Can you provide an example?

Hi Dave, Within a function just type select * from table; ...call the function
and the SQL editor will give an error saying that the select statement has
no destination...which is true...:) but often very complex stored functions
have temporary tables within and the only way to display the contents while
debugging is to use a loop with raise info calls. It would be great if the
debugger automatically streams all select statements to a output and
formatted already for viewing.

Oh, I see what you mean. Unfortunately thats not possible with the way
the server is currently designed - you would need to use RAISE as you
mention I'm afraid.
