I have just upgraded to pgadmin 3 version 1.2.0. Every time I try to connect to
adatabase it crashes with "the instruction at ... referenced memory at... the memory could not be written...". My PC
isWindows 2000 5.0 build 2195 service pack 5. The databases I am connecting to are on a Windows2000 server: one is
Postgres7, one is Postgres8. I also had a Beta version of Postgres 8 on my PC - I could not connect to that either. I
haveremoved Postgres8 from my PC and reinstalled pgadmin 3 with no improvement. My colleagues are running pgadmin 3
withoutany problems: so there must be something odd on my PC. The pgadmin log gives:

<font

theremay be problems with the dlls not being in the system32 folders (but this was for XP): so I copied libpq.dll and
zlib.dllto there: this made no difference.
I went through the install
loopagain: uninstalled pgadmin - but noticed that the files in c:\program files\pgadminIII were still there. Deleted
themmanually. Ran the install again. pgadmin worked. This might be because of the uninstall fault - or might be a
combinationof moving the dlls and reinstalling...so I'll leave it with you!
<font face="sans-serif"
