Donation of 3 FEITIAN PKI smart cards to the pgAdmin community

Dear friends,

In the event that you would be interested to implement more secure
connections between pgAdmin and PostgreSQL using SSL and smart cards, I
am offering 3 free FEITIAN PKI developer smart cards to the pgAdmin
community if you would like to implement features.

The FEITIAN PKI card works under GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.

You can apply for free card here:
http://www.gooze.eu/feitian-pki-free-software-developer-card

We offer the Feitian PKI smart card, which has unique features:
* Compatible with GNU/Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.
* Supported by OpenSC.
* The card has a real crypto engine, it is not a Java card.
* ISO 7816 features.
* Support RSA keys up to 2048bit.
* Support standard X.509 v3 certificates.
* On-board RSA DES 3DES SHA1 algorithms.
* Both PKCS#11 and MS-CAPI interfaces to existing security
infrastructures.
* High performance smart card chip built-in.
* Hardware random number generator.
* 64k data space.
More info: http://www.gooze.eu/feitian-pki-card

A typical example would be using the crypto engine on card to secure SSL
connections to the PostgreSQL server. This is high level security.

Kind regards,
Jean-Michel Pouré

In principle this sonuds very intesting. But I take it it requires a
card reader, which is not included, to be actually useful?

Unfortunately, I don't have free smart card readers in stock. This is a
common offer from FEITIAN and Gooze.

Reading smart cards requires a PCSCD smart card reader, usually with USB
connection. We sell very cheap readers on Gooze, starting from 9.9€:
http://www.gooze.eu/catalog/smart-card-readers

In the cart, you can add a free smartcard and a refurbished smart card
reader. Just confirm in the comment section of the cart that you are
doing free software development.

Shipping of a single free smart card is free (of course). But you can
add any product depending on your needs. Depending on your location, it
will calculate shipping cost.

Here, you will find a link to supported smart card readers:

For any further question, do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Kind regards,
Jean-Michel

I can do nothing for it.

As noone registered the offer at PostgreSQL, I will also include a free
card reader. Just register on Gooze.eu and mention during checkout:
"pgAdmin developer, please include a free reader".

Please note that I am aware of PostgreSQL core hackers and I will only
ship to well-known people like Dave, Magnus, Guillaume, etc ...

My stock is going low quickly, so I can only recommend to ask for free
PKI+readers quickly. When my stock of free cards is down, I will post a
new message indicating out of stock.

To request a free card + reader:
