Thread: pgAdmin3 under MacOS X

pgAdmin3 under MacOS X

From

Dear Friends,

My sister in law bought a new 17" iMac and gave me her old iMac because she
"wants to find a suitable solution for the retirement of the old warrior".
The old iMac has a MacOsX license and 618 Mb of RAM.

This machine seems to be a suitable solution for compiling and testing
pgAdmin3 under MacOsX. This week-end, I am going to install the old macintosh
from scratch using Fink (http://fink.sourceforge.net).

If anyone in the group is interested, I can set up an SSH account for testing
and compiling pgAdmin3.

Cheers, Jean-Michel POURE

Hi Jean-Michel,

I'm certainly interested to know if it will run on MacOSX, and will try
to help you as much as I can, however being a graphical app, it'll be a
bit tricky to play with via SSH ;-) !! Does OSX do remote X? If so, I
might be able to do some firewall magic to make it display on my
machine...

Regards, Dave.

Dear Dave,

The fink project offers a complete development environment for MacOSx. If you
are interested, you can visit http://fink.sourceforge.net/. PosgreSQL is part
of Fink.

OpenSSH will give you shell access. For graphical display, we can use VNC in
low resolution, which gives very good results. I will set up a complete
environment for you, just wait a few days...

Cheers,
Jean-Michel
