While working on this I noticed that dynahash.c line 499 has this assertion:

Assert(info->entrysize >= info->keysize);

Do you by any chance know why the entry would need to be larger than the key? In this case I'm really treating the hash like a set (if there's a hash set implementation that doesn't store a value, then I'd be happy to use that instead) so I've configured the entry as sizeof(bool) which is obviously smaller than the key.
