Hi John, I would like to add that I was not given the super user privilege to perform COPY command. If so, I wouldn't see \COPY commandat all! Could you please guide me briefly on how to use \COPY command for my usage to write the output into a .CSVfile inside a function? Thanks and Regards, Siva. -----Original Message----- From: pgsql-general-owner@postgresql.org [mailto:pgsql-general-owner@postgresql.org] On Behalf Of Siva Palanisamy Sent: Wednesday, August 17, 2011 10:25 AM To: John R Pierce; pgsql-general@postgresql.org Subject: Re: [GENERAL] How to give \COPY inside a function Hi John, I can understand that we can't use \COPY command directly in a function. Could you please brief me your alternative solutionwith a sample piece of code or any useful link? TO STDOUT ...; and recieve the stdout stream and write it to your file (which is what the \COPY command is doing). -- john r pierce N 37, W 122 santa cruz ca mid-left coast -- Sent via pgsql-general mailing list (pgsql-general@postgresql.org) To make changes to your subscription: http://www.postgresql.org/mailpref/pgsql-general ::DISCLAIMER:: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The contents of this e-mail and any attachment(s) are confidential and intended for the named recipient(s) only.
