ameson-only AIX port, which might be much simpler.  Conversely, if it doesn't work at all, it would need to be fixed.
Idon't think we'd want to accept a new port that doesn't work with meson. 

Before the removal PG passed tests on AIX, when built with meson. IIRC it shared the annoying symbol handling script
withautoconf though.
