I've just committed a bunch of (mostly) small patches which fix up some
error messages and introduce some non-functional initial code for outer
joins.
The timing on this is a bit non-optimal, since I'm leaving town tomorrow
through the weekend, but I've tested all patches on the regression
tests. Except for a couple of patches which did not apply cleanly, but
those seemed to be straight-forward fixes which I did manually.
