I think you are confusing kernel version with glibc version.  AFAIK
there is not a glibc 2.2.18 (not yet, anyway).  The newest available
from redhat is 2.2.3-13 --- see
ftp://rawhide.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/rawhide/i386/RedHat/RPMS/
