Re: "postgres" is needed by initdb but was not found - Mailing list pgsql-admin

Ok - so you are su'ing to a non root user? Should be ok, but 
(particularly sudo) does not always set up path etc nicely. See if 
things work logging in directly (as the non root) user that is running 
the postgres binaries.
