Array of char(n) ? - Mailing list pgsql-general

What's the syntax for creating an array of char(n) ?

When I try to

  create table example (my_array char(2)[]);

all I got is a

  ERROR:  parser: parse error at or near "["

I looked in manuals, FAQ and lists archive, but found any clues.
Maybe is it so simple I forgot it... :-/
