Would you like to work with a small company with a very unique business model based on intellectual Property Assets (patents)? There are currently 6 terabytes of data in a SQL Server database which is being converted to a PostgreSQL database.
The design and performance challenges are many. One current program runs for 30+ days - and it needs to be run at least weekly. Some of the analyses involve calculations with 2+ billion rows. Current data is in multiple formats including some old unstructured text-based. Work also includes re-doing current SQL Server stored procedures
The background that you will need to be successful in this role includes:
5+ years working with large databases (conversion, loading, performance issues, [preferably in a large data warehouse environment
Extensive experience in Open Source environments (Linux, Perl, C, MySQL, etc)
Must have experience with very large databases
