E.17. Postgres Pro Enterprise 12.12.2
Release date: 2022-10-07
E.17.1. Overview
This release is based on Postgres Pro Enterprise 12.12.1 and provides the following changes:
Fixed a bug in the logic of epoch shifting. The previous bug fix, which involved delta page replication, might have interfered with another issue, resulting in data corruption. Now full page replication is triggered.
Fixed a segmentation fault, which could occur on a replica due to inconsistent page fragmentation. During pruning, actions on dead tuples could differ on the primary and the standby upon WAL replay, causing page inconsistency.
Fixed an issue with queries that could time out due to long lock waits. Previously, index type names were locked in temporary tables during index creation.
E.17.2. Migration to Version 12.12.2
If you are upgrading from a Postgres Pro Enterprise release based on the same PostgreSQL major version, it is enough to install the new version into your current installation directory.
Important
If you have previously migrated to Postgres Pro Enterprise 12.12.1, or suspect data corruption on your replica, it is strongly recommended that you recreate the replica.
To migrate from PostgreSQL, as well as Postgres Pro Standard or Postgres Pro Enterprise based on a previous PostgreSQL major version, see the migration instructions for version 12.
