Hi,
I am trying to get Cygwin/PostgreSQL to work in MS Windows XP Embedded.
Question: Is this setup knowk to work?

I installed the latest version of Cygwin on a machine running Windows XP Embedded. I have also installed the version of PostgreSQL that came with Cygwin. So far, so good.

My variables are set as follows:
==========================================
PGDATA=/usr/local/pgsql/data
PGLIB=/usr/local/pgsql/lib
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/pgsql/lib:/usr/local/lib
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH PGDATA PGLIB
==========================================

I then try to run 'initdb' and get the following error:
==========================================
/usr/bin/initdb: cannot create /dev/null: directory nonexistent
/usr/bin/initdb: cannot create /dev/null: directory nonexistent
The program
    '/usr/bin/postgres'
needed by initdb does not belong to PostgreSQL version 7.2.1, or
there may be a configuration problem.
This was the error message issued by that program:
/usr/bin/initdb: cannot create /dev/null: directory nonexistent
===========================================

Question: Does anyone know how to resolve the above problem?

The same installation works fine in Windows 2000 Professional.
Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.
Sandy.
