Hi ,

I have placed my comments in italics

That document seems to be somewhat out of date. pgAdmin has changed a bit since them - most notably, it doesn't run in the browser with a server in the system tray any more.

Can I Please get the latest/ specific instructions to install this. The class professor probably did not have it

I imagine that doc was produced by your professor or someone else at your school. It's not something we have.

One of the steps in the installer would have asked you to choose a password for the database server. That is the password you need to enter in the dialog box from your screenshot (there is no default - it's whatever you chose).

The master password in pgAdmin is then used to gain access to that password if you enable the "Save Password" option, along with any other passwords you may save, so that in the future you only have to enter the master password (which doesn't save much of course, if you only have one database server, but often people have many).

Steps I followed – Pgadmin4, I am entering a password I created. Then I see screen 1(pic1)

Then I see screen 2:, when I click on Servers( upper left), PostgreSQL 14 pops down below, with a prompt to enter password again

When I repeat my password here, it fails:

Yes, that's asking for the password you would have set during the installation process. If you do not know what that is, there are various blogs that show you how to reset it, such as https://chillyfacts.com/reset-postgresql-password-on-windows/

Please note though that the problem here is related to PostgreSQL, not pgAdmin (which seems to be working fine). This is a pgAdmin forum; you would likely get better help for PostgreSQL itself on one of the PostgreSQL mailing lists, such as pgsql-general@postgresql.org. There is a list of useful resources at https://www.postgresql.org/support/, which may be of interest if you prefer Slack or IRC for more speedier responses for example..

Please advise. Thanks!

Please ignore the email below.

I have installed the postreSQL14

I created a master password also

I am unable to enter the right password to enter the server, as seen the PNG picture attached, as instructed to do in the  second last step of the word document.

That document seems to be somewhat out of date. pgAdmin has changed a bit since them - most notably, it doesn't run in the browser with a server in the system tray any more.

Is there a standard password to use, since my master password does not work here?

I am unable to install the admin stack builder on Postgre SQL14

I was asked to follow some instructions on Pg4 admin, but I am not understanding  what to do.

Are you able to send me clear step by step instructions to get the admin stack builder?

I have the software-POSTgre SQL 14 downloaded.

I have the SQL shell black window that opens

I need this for a class in databases starting tomorrow.

Can you please reply ASAP?

Thanks

Sunita Mall

StackBuilder is a component included in EDB's PostgreSQL Installers. Download the installer for PostgreSQL 14 from https://www.enterprisedb.com/downloads/postgres-postgresql-downloads, run it, and ensure the StackBuilder option is checked when you are asked what components to install.

If you're trying to install pgAdmin (your message is a little confusing), you can also select that on the same step of the PostgreSQL installer.

Alternatively you can download pgAdmin on it's own from https://www.pgadmin.org/download/
