That was a useless suggestion, sorry. It still could be rewritten as -

+ snprintf(progress_message[0], PROGRESS_MESSAGE_LENGTH, "%s.%s",
+                          get_namespace_name(RelationGetNamespace(rel)),
+                          relname);
