Hello,
Here is a alpha draft of the Beta1 announcement. I am aware it is not
complete as I don't have release notes yet.
PostgreSQL 9.6 Beta1 Released!
The PostgreSQL Global Development Group announces today that the first
beta release of PostgreSQL 9.6 is available for download. This is a
feature freeze release and should contain all features and APIs which
will be in the final release. Users should begin testing their
applications against 9.6 Beta 1 in preparation for the final release.
Major changes since 9.5
The 9.6 features several significant changes and exciting enhancements
including:
* Parallelism for certain queries (see max_parallel_degree)
* Increased logical decoding features
* Full Text Search improvements
* Join Pushdown for postgres-fdw
* Enable pg_dump ACL support
In particular, the the parallelism feature should bring a noticeable
increase in performance to supported queries.
Beta Schedule
This is first beta release of version 9.6, indicating that very few
user-visible feature changes are expected before final release. The
PostgreSQL Project will release additional betas as required for
testing, followed by one or more release candidates, until the final
release in late 2016. For further information please see:
