Yeah, after looking at this it looks like the only place it could
reasonable be used without a bot is in Template:SnippetInfo, and that
would still require modifying the original references. It would have
been nice to have a canonical way to reference PG versions, but at this
point I don't think it's worth it unless someone in the general user
community wants to tackle it.
