a 32 bit client OS would *mandate* a 32bit ODBC.    even on a 64bit
client OS, if you have 32 bit applications, they also require 32 bit
ODBC drivers.   only if both the OS *and* the client applications are
64bit would a 64bit ODBC be suitable.
