Hi All,

Few questions - Related to my previous thread about Oracle to Postgre migrations.

1. In the customer cloud environment we don’t have any other access in CLI(Command Line) apart from psql, is this sufficient for migration from Oracle to Postgre?

**pgadmin4 will be there along with psql.

2. The source(Oracle) is external to cloud environment and not in the same namespace. Oracle servers are hosted in on premise DC machines/VM's.

3. The Postgre is provisioned automatically based on Postgre Docker image and It does not include “EDB migration toolkit” which is trail/free version.

**If we change the Docker image and include migration toolkit as part of in Stack Builder ?

Any other points/suggestions which you think is important for the migrations?

Thanks

Soumik

Hello All,

We have a requirement to migrate from Oracle(Multiple versions) – 11gR1,11gR2,12c to PostgreSQL 10 to private cloud of customer  in context to that –

1.       Please let me know the best practices for migrations- any documents ,links etc.

2.       Open source tools for migration.

3.       OS and kernel parameters as per PostgreSQL standards for DB instances.

4.       Design and planning for PostgreSQL configurations.

5.       If Ora2pg tool is enough for migration?

Thanks

Soumik
