Uh, we do have this for SP-GiST:
Allow SP-GiST indexes to optionally use compression (Teodor Sigaev,
Heikki Linnakangas, Alexander Korotkov, Nikita Glukhov)
I am unclear how far downt the API stack I should go in documenting
changes like this.
